Steps to become a USA Hockey Coach

Steps to compliance.
1. Register with USA hockey as a player/coach https://membership.usahockey.com/ (every year)
2. Background check -- https://www.usahockey.com/backgroundscreen (every two years)
Click the red button on the USA Hockey site to begin the screening process. It will autofill the registration ID number for you.
3. Safesport course -- https://www.usahockey.com/safesporttraining (every year)
4. CAHA Anti-Bullying Training -- Available in Our Parent Portal (every year)
5. Complete the USA Hockey coach's seminar and online training. -- https://www.usahockey.com/coachingcertification
6. Register with our club so our registrar can confirm compliance. (every year)
The club will reimburse coaches for the cost of the background check. Please complete the form and submit to the treasurer. treasurer@santarosaflyers.org
To help on the ice as a coach you will need to complete the compliance steps listed above, at minimum.

All Santa Rosa Junior hockey head coach applicants must complete the coaching application. (Assistant coaches do not need to complete an application)
1. Complete the SRJHC coaching application. Once you've completed the application, please email it to the ACE via ace@santarosaflyers.org
2. Follow the steps to compliance (see above)
The USA Hockey coaching clinics are typically offered from June to December each year. Some are in person and some may be virtual. As information for the 2022-2023 season is released by USA Hockey this page will be updated.

Santa Rosa Flyers also have a student coaching program for those older players (between ages 13 and 17) who want to give back by coaching the younger players.
