Squirt B Success in Medford MLK Tournament

By Geoff Towle, 01/17/17, 6:00PM PST

The Squirt B Flyers recorded their first 2 victories of the season in a very fun MLK tournament in Medford, Oregon. 14 of the 15 Squirt B players and their families made the trip and had a great time. They lost a hard fought first game 4-1 to Portland (it was 1-0 going into the 3rd), and they lost 3-0 to the eventual winners, Bend Oregon, holding them to a 0-0 tie for two periods. The team's first victory of the season was a 3-1 win over Vancouver, Washington. The second was also against Vancouver (2-1 in the consolation round).

"We highly recommend this tournament for B level Squirt and Peewee," said Coach Warren Smith. "Our Bantams were way too talented for the competition. It was well organized. An excellent rink, walking distance from two major Marriott hotels and close to others. Eating and shopping all convenient. The whole team of families had a great dinner gathering in a private room at Angelo’s Pizza after our Saturday night game."

Congratulations Squirt B!
