Love and Support from Fresno Hockey

Fresno Hockey Community Raises Over $1,500 To Help Santa Rosa Hockey Families Affected By Fire

There are many words that can be used to describe the Santa Rosa JV team's trip to Fresno amidst the horrendous Northern California fires this past weekend. However, all the outpouring of love and support we received from the Fresno Junior Monsters Hockey club and the greater Fresno community can't be summed up more accurately and more poignantly then in the below video sent to us by none other then the Fresno club themselves.

From the bottom of our hearts we express our deepest gratitude to all who participated in the outpouring of kindness. A special thanks goes out to Angela Robertson (Fresno JR Monsters Team Manager) who took it upon herself to go above and beyond to make our team feel welcome and supported during our time in Fresno, Jason Rivera (the owner of Grumper's hockey shop) who personally matched all the funds collected by the Fresno hockey community for Santa Rosa over the weekend, and Judith Redmond  whose donation in memory of her son Jeremy moved us deeply. As many around here have been saying this past week "The love is thicker then the smoke." We are all touched and humbled by your heart and generosity.

A note to our players:

Our boys,
This past week many of you have faced some of the toughest challenges of your young lives. You have experienced things you shouldn't have to. Yet somehow in it all you had the fortitude to stand with your teammates in a true showing of strength, support and solidarity that was inspirational to people on a level you probably aren't even aware of. We had some tough game play and it is easy when so many things feel like they are wearing on you to throw in the towel in defeat. Not one of you did any such thing. I saw a true team come together this weekend. I saw the fight, I saw the character, I saw the grit, I saw the heart. I literally could not be more proud of each and every one of you. I could not be more proud to be a Santa Rosa Junior Hockey Club mom. I am honored to be your manager and I thank you for showing us all a thing or two about what it means to stand tall.
