Intro to Hockey is a great place for boys and girls to learn how to play ice hockey. Our program features non-contact classes and is designed for anyone who wants to work on their hockey fundamentals. All ages are welcomed, provided they have the ability to skate on their own, and there are no safety concerns expressed by the coaching staff. It is fun, safe and will get your player zipping around the ice in no time!
Intro to Hockey sessions run for 8 weeks and typically meet every Sunday morning (approx. 75 minutes). Please consult SRJHC calendar for exact dates and times. The fee per full 8-week session is $150. We understand you have busy schedules; unfortunately we cannot offer prorated or makeup classes. We do offer half-sessions (4 practices for $75).
Each player needs a helmet, stick, gloves, and jersey to play. We offer a beginner equipment package for new players for $90. Snoopy's Home Ice provides hockey skate rentals for free.
We are hoping to have our first session start on Oct 13, pending the opening of our rink!
Typically practices are Sunday mornings.
Please pre-register at the link above to be kept updated on our schedule
Intro to Hockey will take place in 8 week sessions throughout the fall and winter months, and will conclude in late spring. We expect to have at least 6 sessions during this time, but you do not need to commit to all of them; feel free to register for only those sessions that meet your needs. New this season, you can now opt to sign up for half (4 week sessions). Please see the registration page for dates.
***IMPORTANT*** ALL registrations and payments, both for the initial session, and all subsequent sessions, will take place online via our club's website. You will need to create/login with a SportsEngine account and provide a current USA Hockey registration for the 2019-20 season. There will be an opportunity to pay using a credit card at the end of the online registration process. There will no other paperwork to fill out or bring to the rink; you will simply show up for the first session and check-in your player.
If you have any questions or concerns about Intro, please contact Coach Chris Woida at 707-272-3451. We recommend a quick call with the coach to assess your child’s skill level and determine the best place for him/her in Intro.
If you have any questions about the Intro to Hockey program, registration or schedule, please contact the Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is your aspiring hockey player interested in Intro to Hockey but worried about his or her skating ability? We highly recommend enrolling in group skating lessons offered by the excellent instructors at Snoopy's Home Ice. Group skating lessons are a great precursor or supplemental practices for Intro to Hockey.
