We are happy to announce a new program this season! Travel Prep is an advanced development program that will practice twice a week.
All players who are interested in House or Travel Prep have four evaluation sessions to determine if they are ready to participate in Travel Prep. Any players who do not participate in the evaluation sessions will be placed into House.
The Intro program is an introduction to hockey. It is the starting point for children who already know how to ice skate and are now wanting to play hockey.
The House program is an intermediate hockey program for children 11-17 years of age. House requires the player to show the ability to have complete control while skating forwards and backwards, confidence in their crossovers and be able to apply a controlled hockey stop.
The Travel Prep program is for players who were cut from the travel team tryouts and practice players for travel. It is also open to all players who did not tryout but have the advanced hockey skills that travel would require. The practices will be more like travel practices with the same expectations as if your player is on a travel team. This is only open to the 12U, 14U and HS age groups.
In addition to these programs, the SRJHC encourages the children to take advantage of Snoopy’s public skate sessions, as well as their skating program. Information on Snoopy’s Home Ice skating programs can be found here:
