Which Program Is Right for Your Player?
To ensure the best experience for every child, please review the following guidelines before selecting a program:
Intro to Hockey (Learn to Play)

This program is right for your child if they:
• Are new to skating or hockey
• Have not completed Learn to Skate levels Hockey 1–3
• Are still working on balance, stopping, turning, or stride control
• Are not yet ready for structured team play or games
Players in Intro will receive dedicated instruction in skating and hockey fundamentals, helping prepare them for team-based play in the Mite program.
Mite Hockey (8U Team Play)
Best for: Players who are ready for practices, scrimmages, and games with a team.
Ideal age: 7–8 years old
(6-year-olds may register only if they meet skill criteria – see below)
Your child may register for Mites if they:
• Are at least 7 years old, OR
• Are 6 years old and skating at or above the middle of Mite C skill level
• Have completed Learn to Skate levels Hockey 1–3, OR
• Have been evaluated and approved by an Intro coach or Hockey Director
• Are ready for team practices, game play, and positional learning
Important Notes
• Mite program capped at 30 players. Spots are filled based on readiness and registration order.
• New players will be evaluated during the first week of practice. If needed, they may be moved into Intro to better support their development.
• Final team placement (Team 1, 2, or 3) is flexible and may shift as players grow.
• All players are encouraged to try goaltending throughout the season.
• Continued participation in Hockey 4 or 5 (Power Skating) while enrolled in Mites is strongly recommended.
